Job Description

The Division of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology is recruiting a Pediatric or Family Nurse Practitioner to participate in the assessment, treatment, and ongoing management of Pediatric patients with bleeding and clotting disorders. This position will be responsible for ongoing patient/family educational needs, managing orders, arranging follow-up,  and seeing patients with bleeding and clotting problems.The practitioner will be working and interacting with all professional levels including staff nurse’s, students, residents, fellows, social workers, recreational therapist and other medical allied health professionals. Experience in Pediatric Hematology and Oncology preferred.


The Division of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology is a part of the Department of Pediatrics and the UNC Hemophilia Treatment Center. The division specializes in the diagnosis, treatment and management of hematological disorders and malignancies in children and adolescents. We also offer bone marrow transplantation through our combined adult-pediatric bone marrow transplantation program and maintain comprehensive clinics in hemophilia and bleeding disorders, oncology, sickle cell disease, general hematology, brain tumors and long-term follow-up.


Licensure and Certifications: Must be licensed in North Carolina as Family Nurse Practitioner or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. Board certification by the Department of Pediatrics is required.





Qualifications

Completion of an accredited graduate-level Advanced Practice Provider (APRN or PA) program. Licensed as an Advanced Practice Provider (i.e., Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, Clinical Pharmacist Practitioner, Certified Nurse Midwife, or Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist) in the state of North Carolina. Board certification if required by the Department.
