The primary purpose of this full time position is to assist with the development of a multidepartmental/multispecialty Weight Management Program facilitated by the division of Gastrointestinal Surgery in the Department of Surgery. This role was developed to facilitate the Medical Weight Management arm of the program and to streamline patient intake and management. This position is designed to collaborate and compliment the work of the Advanced Practice Provider on the Surgical Arm of this program. A successful candidate will work in the academic environment of a University Teaching Hospital specifically with the Division of Gastrointestinal Surgery, in the Department of Surgery. The Weight Management Program provides care for patients in ambulatory setting, and interacts with physicians, nurses, health science students and other disciplines in various locations throughout the outpatient clinics. This position works a schedule based on outpatient clinics and specialty assignments in collaboration withphysicians in Surgery, Medicine, and PM&R. This position is expected to perform duties, responsibilities and most assignments with considerable autonomy and self-direction in providing total medical care for patients. Requires an advanced degree from an accredited program.
Completion of an accredited graduate-level Advanced Practice Provider (Adult or Family NP or PA) program. Licensed as an Advanced Practice Provider in the state of North Carolina. Board certification if required by the Department.
