Job Description

Clinical Support Tech II for Bone Marrow Transplant Unit

The Bone Marrow Transplant unit is 24 beds and cares for adult patients undergoing transplant for hematologic cancers, solid tumors, metabolic diseases and blood disorders.


A Clinical Support Technician II (CST II) position functions as both an Nursing Assistant II and Health Unit Coordinator (HUC). This position provides both indirect and direct care to patients and families as well as performing a wide range of clerical duties and administrative tasks. The CST II in this position must also possess excellent communication and customer service skills with a team approach. Basic knowledge and skills utilizing various computer systems is strongly preferred.


This position is 36 hours per week working 12 hour shifts, Day/Night rotation (7a-7:30p & 7p-7:30a), with weekend rotation. This position qualifies for an extensive benefit and PTO package. Must be able to commit to a week long hospital orientation, Monday through Friday (7:30am-5:00pm). Hospital Orientation is held bi-weekly.

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED. Listed as Nursing Assistant II with the North Carolina Board of Nursing. Listed as Nursing Assistant I with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services. Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification. One (1) year of clerical or customer service experience and six (6) months of related nursing assistant experience, which may include a nursing assistant course or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
