Job Description

Location: Chapel Hill, NC

Shift: 10:00am-6:30pm, rotating weekends. Varies w. Dept. Needs.

The NFS Retail Services department is looking to hire a candidate for a Starbucks Supervisor position that will serve as a role model by ensuring service standards are met and surpassed by creating the Starbucks Experience for Baristas and customers, providing customers with prompt service, quality beverages and products, and maintaining a clean and comfortable environment.

Under supervision, this Starbucks Supervisor supervises the activities of all employees involved in the Nutrition and Food service department areas of Starbucks, sanitation, cafeteria services, food production and nutrition support.The candidate is also responsible for:

Delivering legendary service to all customers by acting with treating the customer right attitude and connecting with the customer to anticipate their needs. 

Monitors and observes the day-to-day activities of the shift team, coordinates breaks for hourly associates, and communicates information to manager of  Starbucks area activities and any significant problems. 

Completes opening, daily and closing procedures/checklists in accordance with company policies/procedures and coordinates with management for on-the-job training of new associates. 

Operates cash register and voids transactions as needed while following all cash handling policies and procedures, and maintains proper security of cash at all times. 

Monitors compliance with safety guidelines, builds awareness about safety, and reports any safety concerns to management. 

They must ensure that staff are using safe food handling and proper service techniques meeting the standards according to JCAHO, and that diet restrictions are being followed. They will supervise all merchandising, temperature and taste testing of all food items and afterwards records results.

They will interview, hire, train, schedule, take time, attendance, and payroll and evaluate the service staff, and if necessary make recommendations for disciplinary action up to termination as necessary. They will regularly participate in and hold meetings. They will be expected to establish their own work plan and priorities, and assist in improving the overall operations of the department.

Once the candidate is hired for this position they must remain current and compliant with their ServSafe Manager Level Certification according to the statutes of the state of North Carolina. 

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED. Two (2) years food service experience including food service supervision or equivalent duties.
