This position may involve support of various hospitals and health care systems within the UNC Health Care System, but will be employed by Rex Hospital, Inc. (this includes, but is not limited to, for purposes of payroll, health benefits, retirement options, and applicable policies)
Senior Desktop Support Specialists provide direct support in all infrastructure matters from the desktop (laptop, desktop, tablet, etc…) to the network, technical assistance for application and Citrix related issues, and training for Operating System, MS Office , and other application matters. Senior Desktop Support Specialists are also charged with engaging other Teams as necessary in the resolution of matters outside of their purview. Microsoft and A+ Certifications preferred. Experience in some/all of the following is also beneficial: Active Directory, SCCM, TCP/IP, remote support tools such as Bomgar, VDI, antivirus and data encryption tools. Candidate should have excellent communication and troubleshooting skills, experience working in a clinical environment, and be capable of lifting 50 lbs. May be responsible for providing direction to colleagues in areas of subject matter expertise. Candidate will also be part of an on call rotation that may include onsite service during evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management or related field (or equivalent combination of education, training and experience).
No licensure or certification required.
Professional Experience Requirements:
If an Associate's degree: Three (3) years of experience in data processing and hardware/software support.
If a High School diploma or GED: Seven (7) years of experience in data processing and hardware/software support.

Excellent communication skills. Ability to work well in a team environment. Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Highly responsive to internal customers.
