Job Description

Position:  Inpatient Pharmacy Technician II / Investigational Drug Services
Location: Main Hospital / Chapel Hill
Hours:  Full Time, 40 hrs/wk; Days; Monday--Friday; 7:30am-4:00pm or 8:00am-4:30pm


The team is seeking a highly motivated technician to primarily work in the IDS pharmacy providing high-level customer service to patients and research teams at UNC Health Care.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
-Dispense and deliver investigational product in both the acute and outpatient settings
-Deliver investigational product to off-site locations
-Prepare IV admixtures of investigational product
-Maintain inventory through ordering and receiving activities
-Interact and communicate with outside vendors in professional manner
-Assist in documentation of activities related to research protocols
-Complete special projects as assigned

Vestigo is the research computer system utilized for studies and this technician will be required to become proficient in using this system for inventory management and coordinating monitor visits, among other activities.

Preferences:
At least 2 years of experience as a technician. IV admixture experience, retail or outpatient experience preferred.

Qualifications

HS diploma or equivalent. Completion of an academic pharmacy technician training program preferred. Registration with the NC Board of Pharmacy. Registration with the NC Board of Pharmacy. CPhT from PTCB unless enrolled in pharmacy school. Prior pharmacy technician experience is preferred.
