Hours: Part-time, 20hrs.
This position will work collaboratively with the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program (ASP), a multi-disciplinary team comprising mainly physicians and pharmacists, at UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill. The primary mission of the ASP is to optimize patient outcomes by promoting the appropriate use of antimicrobials including the choice of drug, dosing regimen, monitoring and duration.
The position will report directly to the Administrative Director for the Antimicrobial Stewardship program and will be responsible for project management, developing and carrying out action plans and timelines with the ASP leadership team to ensure successful completion of the program's goals and initiatives (e.g., antibiotic time outs for inpatients, promote evidence-based durations of therapy). The position will assist in leading biweekly team meetings (Monday mornings) and will be an active participant in the monthly leadership team meetings (Friday afternoon).
In addition to the education requirements and professional experience requirements, a successful candidate for this position will have a demonstrated successful history of project management in a healthcare setting, a strong foundation of quality improvement skills, exceptional oral and written communication skills, advanced problem-solving skills, and excellent collaboration and negotiation skills.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Health Administration or related field. Five (5) years of professional experience in project management related experience.
