Job Description

RN needed for Newborn Critical Care Center.

NCCC is comprised of 48 beds providing the highest quality of care for the most critically ill newborns. The unit provides comprehensive medical and surgical care to the medically fragile preterm or ill newborn. NCCC provides care for newborns from all 100 counties of North Carolina.

This is a 36 hour a week position, with rotations of days / nights with approximately every third weekends, flexible self scheduling.

Position qualifies for an extensive benefit package including PTO that is earned based upon years of service.

UNC Health Care has received Magnet Recognition by the American Nurses Credentialing Center which recognizes quality patient care, nursing excellence and innovations in professional nursing practice.


Requires graduation from a state-accredited school of professional nursing and one year of nursing experience. Must be licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the State of North Carolina by the NC Board of Nursing. Current certification in Healthcare Provider BLS/ CPR required.

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, preferred. If hired after January 6, 2014, must be enrolled in an accredited program within four years of employment, and obtain a Baccalaureate degree with a major in Nursing or a Master’s degree with a major in Nursing within seven years of employment date.
