Essential Duties and Responsibilities are as follows. Other duties may be assigned.
1.1 Maintains an environment of safety for patients, self and others.
1.2 Call patients prior to testing to inform patient of pre-procedure prep and explain all aspects of the procedure with patient as necessary.
1.3 Review and obtain patient medication list and enter into EMR system. Start IV on patients, when needed.
1.4 Help patient with treadmill and/or any side effects from pharmaceuticals given for procedure. Administer medications as needed, logging any pharmaceutical use into EMR for appropriate charge capture.
1.5 Prep patients for echo/nuclear stress testing, placing electrodes, initiating EKG as needed. Monitor vital signs during test. Monitor EKG recording during test. Remove IV and disconnect electrodes, EKG upon completion of test, as needed.
1.6 ordering of medical supplies for the office as needed
1.7 Assisting clinic nurse team as needed (communicating with patients, in-basket work, refilling prescriptions, and triaging patients as time permits).
Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. One year of nuclear technology experience in a clinical setting preferred. EKG experience required.
Must have NC RN Licensure and BCLS. ACLS required within 90 days of hire.
Demonstrated excellent communication skills. Effectively interact with patients and their families, showing sensitivity to patients' physical and psychological needs. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology to pinpoint area for nuclear test. Knowledge of nuclear equipment and testing. knowledge of safety hazards to nuclear testing, including equipment, body mechanics and patients movement.
