Job Description

This position primarily serves acute care and other domains as needed. The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) is responsible for administering occupational therapy treatment and modalities as supervised by the staff physical therapist. Administers treatments and physical agents as directed per evaluating occupational therapist plan of care. 

The COTA assists with restoration of patient functioning to prevent disability following injury, disease or physical disability. The COTA also assists patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning, while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities. 

The COTA participates in operational aspects of the department, maintains performance improvement activities within the department and participates in helping to achieve performance indicator goals. Participates in all infection control, departmental equipment training, organizational safety and fire safety programs.


Associate's Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Program. 

Prefer at least one year of experience in all aspects of Occupational Therapy.


Requires Occupational Therapy and CPR licensure in North Carolina.
