Job Summary: M-F 8a-7p / Sat. & Sun. 10-6
Performs radiological procedures at a technical level that will require independent judgment.
Essential Job Functions:
The following is a summary of the essential functions of this job. The incumbent may perform other duties, both major and minor, that are not mentioned below; and specific functions may change from time to time. Prepares patient for x-ray procedure. Produces diagnostic quality exams. Maintains the safety including radiation safety of the patient and the technologist. Maintains level of competency through educational requirements. Is able to identify and address the needs of different patient age groups (i.e. neonates, pediatric, adult, geriatric) and demonstrates the ability to effectively communicate with these patients. Demonstrates behavior consistent with the goals of the organization.
Works as 2nd MA in the urgent care. Will be experienced in, or will be expected to learn assessments of the patient including vital signs, point of care testing, injections of medications, phlebotomy tasks, splinting, and other clinical skills needed to perform the job.


Education and formal training:
High school graduate. Graduate of AMA approved school of radiologic technology, registered or registry eligible ARRT.
Work Experience:
No formal training or experience needed if the person has the above educational requirements.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities required:
Verbal communication skills required to relate to people of varying levels of education and background. Must be able to handle stressful or confrontational interactions with patients. Must be able to handle emergency situations with patients. Knowledge of health care services specifically imaging modalities and how departments relate to each other.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to turn, position, and transfer patients. Must be able to assume awkward positions such as bending and twisting. Must be able to effectively operate diagnostic equipment. Must have near visual acuity to assess patient's physical condition when performing exams, and to evaluate film for diagnostic quality. Must be able to speak and hear for communication with patients. With assistance, can lift and support an average of 150 pounds.
