This position may involve support of various hospitals and health care systems within the UNC Health Care System, but will be employed by Rex Hospital, Inc. (this includes, but is not limited to, for purposes of payroll, health benefits, retirement options, and applicable policies)
The Data Governance Consultant is the system-wide expert on business and/or clinical data literacy. They work within the Business Glossary tool to ensure appropriate and necessary documentation of analytics assets, which defines what data is available, where it is located, how it is structured, what it means, how it is maintained, and how it is appropriately used to support clinical and business decision making. Fluent in information management and/or library science, Data Governance Consultants work collaboratively with clinical and business teams to define and cultivate high-quality data assets across the entire UNC Health Care System. As conveners and facilitators of EADS data governance working teams across the enterprise, Data Governance Consultants work to translate clinical and business needs and requirements into data documentation, strategies, policies, standards, business practices, and software-enabled solutions. And as subject matter expert in how these areas of the enterprise collect data, consume information, and make decisions, Data Governance Consultants drive the development of reusable data and analytical assets that empower clinical and business areas to become more data driven in their operations.
Professional Experience Requirements:
Requires two (2) years of demonstrated experience in business intelligence & analytics, library or information management or data governance
