This position may involve support of various hospitals and health care systems within the UNC Health Care System, but will be employed by Rex Hospital, Inc. (this includes, but is not limited to, for purposes of payroll, health benefits, retirement options, and applicable policies)
This position will work on the Epic Beacon Oncology and Willow Pharmacy applications.
The Clinical Informatics Pharmacist (CIP) specializes in the medication process, from ordering to administration, and is responsible for effective process design, development, and support of clinical information systems associated with pharmacy ordering, administration and documentation. The CIP demonstrates independent decision making as appropriate in evaluation of requests for system improvements and determines feasibility and advisability of system changes using process improvement methods. The position performs new build and maintenance on existing content build.
This position requires demonstrable project management experience, excellent communication and presentation skills (both verbal and written) and the ability to work with users of all skill levels. Must have the ability to work well with a team and be able to manage projects at the same time.
The applicant must be willing to provide support in a 24/7 environment which will include rotating on-call support duties during off hours, weekends and holidays. Work schedules may include some after hours and weekend assignments based on project demands.
- Minimum 2 years of pharmacy informatics experience in health care.
- Epic Beacon/Willow/Ambulatory certification
Licensed as a Registered Pharmacist and eligible to practice pharmacy in the state of North Carolina.
If a Bachelor's degree: Two (2) years of pharmacist experience.
Knowledge and understanding of medical informatics. Knowledge of pharmacy department workflow related to ordering, dispensing, administering and documenting medications. Knowledge of related health information systems specifically electronic medical records.
