PHARMACIST - INPATIENT PHARMACY

Job Description

Reviews and interprets orders and prescriptions written by authorized prescribers to assure accuracy and appropriateness prior to entry onto the patient profile.
Assesses relevant patient data, in conjunction with prescribed therapies and makes appropriate pharmaceutical care interventions.
Compounds and oversees the preparation and dispensing of medications including sterile products using standard formulas, processes and procedures.
Provides information to consumers and healthcare professionals.
Counsels patients and appropriate family members regarding pharmaceutical care issues and lifestyle modifications.
Directs and supervises support personnel engaged in pharmaceutical activities.
Adheres to federal, state, local and institutional policies, procedures, standards and regulations.  

Qualifications

Education:


BS in Pharmacy or PharmD degree plus hospital or related clinical experience strongly preferred.


Licensure:


Licensed by North Carolina Board of Pharmacy.
