Job Description

The UNC REX Staffing Response Team is a centralized staffing pool providing nursing care to patients across the hospital. Nurses work in clinical groupings: Medicine, Surgical, Intermediate Care, Critical Care, Surgical Outpatient and Recovery. We offer 3 different levels of RN positions based on clinical groupings worked and minimum number of hours commitment each week.


This is a Casual/ Per Diem position.  Candidates must have Intermediate Care, or Critical Care RN experience to qualify.  The RN will float to Inpatient floors within their clinical grouping.   

• The Staffing Office is currently open 24/7 days a week.

• SRT RN commitment hours are based on Levels of commitment and Clinical Groupings.
• SRT RN’s choose Level II, III or IV and will sign an Agreement Form for which level they chose to commit to.

Level II: Requires SRT RN’s to work a minimum of two clinical grouping and a minimum of 12 hours per week. $35.50/hour (624 hours annually)

Level III: Requires SRT RN’s to work three clinical groupings and a minimum of 12hours per week to include one 12 hour weekend shift per six week schedule and one 12 hour holiday annually.  Weekends and Holidays are to be requested in the SRT unit only. $37.50/hour (624 hours annually)

Level IV: Requires SRT RN’s to work a minimum of two clinical groupings and a minimum of 24 hours per week (2 twelve hour shifts), to include two 12 hour weekend shifts per six week schedule and two 12 hour holidays annually (one summer holiday and one winter holiday). Weekends and Holidays are to be requested in the SRT unit only. $44.88/hour (624 hours annually)

Clinical Groupings:
Intermediate Care (6HV, 4E, 8HV, 7HV, IC in CSICU & CICU, IC in ED) 


Critical Care (ICU, CICU, CTICU, & CC in ED) 

Surgical Outpatient and Recovery (PACU East, PACU West, MPU, PPC, Pre-Op)

Qualifications

Experience: 
A minimum of one year of current acute care hospital experience is required.  Intermediate Care or Critical Care RN experience is highly preferred.  

Education: 
Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred. Must be enrolled in an accredited program within four years of employment, if hired afer January 6, 2014, and obtain a Baccalaureate degree with a major in Nursing or a Master's degree with a major in Nursing within seven years of employment date.

BCLS 
Current NC Registered Nursing License
