(this includes, but is not limited to, for purposes of payroll, health benefits, retirement options, and applicable policies.

Summary:

The Senior Analytics Consultant for Data Governance independently advances a wide variety of data governance initiatives across the UNC Health Enterprise. A successful candidate will be knowledgeable about data governance principles and effective implementation strategies, will be skilled at engaging domain experts and business leaders to advance the value delivered by the data governance program, and will think critically about what is working and where alternative approaches may be needed to improve the program.

Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Mindset & Communication - The Analytics Solution Sr. Consultant is a versatile leader, equally fluent in communicating with senior executives and operations staff, and in orchestrating multidisciplinary teams through discussions into system-wide consensus. They build positive relationships with a wide range of leaders across the organization, and are conscious of long-term business goals. The Analytics Solution Sr. Consultant is both a strong presenter and listener. They are organizationally savvy, able to navigate overlapping or conflicting priorities across stakeholders. The Analytics Solution Sr. Consultant is adaptable, adjusting their approach to respond to the situation and the culture.

2. Enterprise Leadership, Mentorship & Training - Establishes and leads virtual teams of clinical, business, and information services staff from across the system to drive consensus on data and analytical needs and priorities. Mentors junior staff and analytics community members.

3. Program Management & Facilitation - The Analytics Solution Sr. Consultant leverages product and program management principles to drive the iterative creation of new data and analytical capabilities and assets for the system. This includes, but it not limited to consulting with business stakeholders to design and scope solutions, capturing and preparing project intake (demands), documenting business decisions, managing risks and scope, and updating customers on progress.

4. Delivery & Enablement - The Analytics Solution Sr. Consultant delivers analytical solutions and drives adoption with the business in order to achieve business objectives and realize value. They assess business adoption of delivered solutions. They provide end-user enablement and support, including high-touch customer service, communications, and the creation of reusable knowledge assets such as documentation and training content. The Analytics Solution Sr. Consultant serves as the liaison between their end-user community and developers, helping to identify, scope, and prioritize ongoing program delivery.

5. Data Governance Expertise - Acts as an internal expert on data governance principles and best practices. Educates UNC Health leaders and governance stakeholders on industry standards and successful approaches at a level appropriate to the intended audience.

Example duties may include: 

1. Leading working sessions with subject matter experts, individually or in group settings, to directly document analytical assets or help stewards build skills to do so independently. 

2. Demonstrate and train members of the analyst community and business leaders on how to take advantage of UNC Health’s data catalog to find and understand the data and analytics assets available to them. 

3. Propose, evaluate, and execute new approaches to solving specific data governance challenges, weighing the needs and capabilities of different stakeholders and our platforms. 

4. Promote data literacy and awareness of the value of data governance through presentations, consultations with health system leaders, and participation in community forums and processes.

● If a Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM field (i.e. Engineering, Math, Computer Science, Analytics, etc.), then two (2) years of experience is required
● If a Bachelor's Degree in other field, requires four (4) years of experience.
● If Master’s Degree, then two (2) years of experience is required.
● If current certification in analytics, requires three (3) years of experience.
● If an Associate's Degree, requires ten (10) years of experience.
● If High School Diploma, requires twelve (12) years of experience.
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
● - Ability to function with limited guidance and be comfortable working on projects alone or leading more junior team members.
