Looking for an energetic positive person for an entry-level position as a Stock Clerk in the Medical Center Sterile Processing Department (CPD). Pulling instrument trays and procedure custom packs into case carts and sending up to the Operating Room. Creating and updating a “minus list” of what remaining trays are needed for next day’s cases, with use of our instrument tracking information system. Also stocking the OR with sterile gowns. Stock and put away of these custom packs as well as departmental supplies in a neat, orderly manner. Bar code scanning of instrument trays back to their shelving locations. Keeping the storeroom and stock areas clean and orderly at all times. Answering the department phone for trays needed in the OR. Establish and maintain a good professional rapport with department peers, clinical management, staff, administration, nursing personnel, and all other hospital departments and services. This position requires excellent customer service & communication skills. This job will require multitasking, initiative & ability to adapt to changes in work environment & service needs. Position will entail lifting instrument trays not to exceed 25 pounds and bending and reaching from bottom level shelves to top eye level shelves.
This is a 40 hour a week position; Monday to Friday 11:00am to 7:30pm at UNC Ambulatory Care Center in Chapel Hill, NC. This position qualifies for a generous benefit package including PTO accrual based upon the number of hours hired to work.

Receives, orders, inventories, stores and issues items (food, drugs, equipment, chemicals, products, etc.) throughout the facility and off-site locations. This position performs these duties in both patient and non-patient related care areas and is assigned to a variety of departments throughout UNC Hospitals.
1. Assists with patient and other transportation as requested
2. Loads and unloads supplies. Packs and unpacks items to be stocked.
3. Maintains invoices and other records.
4. Maintains storage areas in safe, neat and clean condition
5. Receives, orders, inventories, stores and distributes supplies
6. User consultation--meets with users to fulfill needs.
