Summary:
Conducts tests, maintains instruments, explains procedures and maintains accurate and complete data for patient tests.


Responsibilities:
1. Conducts Electroencephalographic, Evoked Potential, and Nerve Conduction Velocity studies on central and/or peripheral nerves.
2. Maintains electroneurodiagnostic instruments to recommended performance and calibrated levels.
3. Explains procedures to patient to facilitate patient cooperation and minimize anxiety during study.
4. Attaches surface or subdermal recording electrodes, according to standard guidelines, to record electrical potentials for all electroneurodiagnostic studies.
5. Operate all electroneurodiagnostic instruments for the evaluation and diagnosis of neuropathological processes.
6. Maintains accurate and complete data, calculations, tracings, and graphs of each electroneurodiagnostic study.
7. Assists physician, as necessary, during recording of EMG activity with needle electrodes.
8. Maintains accurate log of patients and studies performed.
9. Conducts intra operative monitoring of peripheral and/or central nervous system function using EEG, EP, NCV/EMG, or Nerve Integrity monitor.
10. Provides clinical and technical support across specialty areas of the Neurodiagnostics Department.

● Requires Bachelor's or equivalent.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
● R.EEGT;R.EDT;R.EPT;BCLS
Professional Experience Requirements:
● If Bachelors degree, candidate requires one (1) year of related experience.
● If Associate's Degree, candidate requires five (5) years of related experience.
● If high school diploma or GED, candidate requires nine (9) years of related experience.
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
● Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret clinical information and technical procedures. Ability to document clinical information. Ability to effectively communicate information in written and spoken form, respond to questions from patients, physicians, family members, and other Rex staff. Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions.
