Description

Summary:
Performs professional and administrative work in planning, organizing, and directing the development, management, and operations for emergency planning and Hospital Disaster Preparedness Subcommittee. Serves as the planner of the Bioterrorism Hospital Preparedness program.
Responsibilities:
1. Conducts on-going needs assessments for all hospitals and facilities within the RAC. Conducts statistical analysis of data collected to determine strengths and weaknesses of the facilities related to disaster preparedness
2. Develops standards for collection of disaster data and reports to ensure compliance with state and federal rules and regulations.
3. Leads the coordination of regional training among the MidCarolina RAC facilities as established by the regional plan. Schedules training dates, locations and instructors. Coordinates revisions of the training curriculum
4. Researches necessary equipment needs, assists in the purchasing process. Assists in developing and maintaining the grant budget. Assists the Trauma Program Clinical Director with other administrative components of the program.
5. Serves as lead planner and interfaces with all facilities in the MidCarolina RAC to develop and plan for responses to regional bioterror and biohazard emergencies. Coordinates the regional disaster plan, educational programs, and subcommittee activities.

Education Requirements:
● Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
● No licensure or certification required.
Professional Experience Requirements:
● If a Bachelor's degree: Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in a healthcare or governmental, emergency services or disaster planning program.
● If an Associate's degree: Seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in a healthcare or governmental, emergency services or disaster planning program.
● If a High School diploma or GED: Eleven (11) years of progressively responsible experience in a healthcare or governmental, emergency services or disaster planning program.
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
● Knowledge of industrial hygiene, OSHA, JCAHO, NC OSP, FDA, EPA, and NFPA laws/regulations preferred.
