To render highly professional and technical cardiopulmonary care to assigned patients. Provides quality diagnostic and therapeutic care to achieve the highest standards of care specific to the age of the patient.
Patients and families are served in providing direct patient care services. Performs duties and conducts interpersonal relationships in a manner designed to project a positive image of the department and hospital. Ensures that contact with physicians and other customers are conducted in a manner that displays superior customer service.

• EDUCATION
o Certificate of completion from an American Medical Association Accredited Respiratory Therapy Program eligible for admission to the CRT and/or RRT examination of the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• EXPERIENCE
o One year experience in a Respiratory Care hospital type setting preferred.
• LICENSURE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION
o Must be licensed by the state of North Carolina as a Respiratory Care Practitioner. Upon successful completion of the CRT exam an active license must be obtained.
• OTHER SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
o Good interpersonal and communication skills; demonstrated understanding of patient care needs according to the developmental stages for various age groups. BCLS training required. Strong Customer Focus.
• WORK ENVIRONMENT
o Exposure to blood borne pathogens, infectious and contagious diseases requiring the use of personal protective equipment. Contact with cleaning agents, chemicals, and some toxic chemicals may also require use of PPE. Subject to stressful work periods and long irregular hours.
• PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
o Walking and standing throughout shift; lifting patients daily with assistance. Pushes and/or pulls or carries equipment throughout shift.
