Job Summary:
The MRI Receptionist performs patient scheduling, registration and receptionist duties for the Imaging Center. Greets patients, families, and providers, initiates the paper flow to record all procedures, and sets the tone and the pace for the Center and its daily operation. Obtains demographic, billing and medical information required for registering patients.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Completion of two years of medical secretarial course preferred. High school diploma required.
Licensure/ Certification None. Experience One-year medical office experience preferred with at least one year of relevant experience in the area of patient access or other business office related functions.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Knowledge of radiology and medical terminology for scheduling, reading reports, etc.
• Knowledge of MRI procedures and scheduling requirements.
• Considerable knowledge of insurance programs and collections processes.
• Considerable knowledge of sentence structure, punctuation and spelling.
• Ability to type accurately and efficiently when registering a patient.
• Ability to organize and effectively process assigned duties.
• Good customer service and interpersonal skills. • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
• Proficient with MS Office and able to learn new software rapidly.
