UNC Physician's Network Float Pool is seeking Medical Assistants, Certified, Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN), or Physician Practice Nurses (RN) for per diem opportunities!

The UNCPN Float Pool provides support to clinics in multiple regions.We will work with you to determine the areas that best fit your needs. The scheduling commitment for the float pool is a minimum of 4 shifts per month.

· Eastern Wake County – Raleigh, Garner, Knightdale, Wake Forest

· Western Wake County – Cary, Fuquay, Apex, Holly Springs, Morrisville

· Orange/Durham County – Durham, Chapel Hill, Hillsborough, Mebane

· Chatham County – Pittsboro, Siler City

· Person County – Roxboro

· Lee County – Sanford

· Rockingham County - Eden

If you live in or are moving to the Triangle area and are a Medical Assistant, Certified, Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or a Physician Practice Nurse (RN) interested in joining UNC Physicians Network Ambulatory clinics, please submit your application. These positions are for a per diem flex float pool that will be a department within the system and provide comprehensive internal training. Many scheduling options are available with the potential to a permanent vacant position, should that be your choice.

    Qualifications:

    Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN): 

    • Requires graduation from a state accredited program of practical nurse education including a pharmacology course (or completion of an approved pharmacology course upon graduation) which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities needed for the administration of medications required by the work setting.
    • No prior experience required.
    • Current BCLS from the American Heath Association. Must obtain by date of hire.

     

    Medical Assistant, Certified: 

    • Requires high school diploma or GED. Completion of a Medical Assisting program accredited by either the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accreditation Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) is strongly preferred but not required. Requires Medical Assistant certification by either the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Medical Technologists (AMT), National Health Career Association (CCMA), National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA), or National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA).
    • Current BCLS from the American Heath Association. Must obtain by date of hire.
    • Prior medical assistant or medical assistant externship experience preferred.

     

    Physician Practice Nurse (RN)

    • Requires Diploma, Associate Degree (ADN) or Bachelor’s Degree (BSN) from an accredited school of Nursing.
    • Licensed to practice as Registered Nurse in North Carolina.
    • Current BCLS from the American Heath Association. Must obtain by date of hire.
    • Previous experience in physician office, urgent care, and emergency department preferred, but not mandatory.
    • Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret clinical information and technical procedures. Ability to document clinical information. Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions from patients, physicians, family members, and other Rex staff. Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions.
