Description

Summary:
Designs and creates financial models to ensure they achieve objectives for UNC Rex Health Care Operations. Exercises independent judgment in the design and development process.
Responsibilities:
1. Designs and creates financial models to ensure they achieve objectives. Exercises independent judgment in the design and development process.
2. Manages and coordinates annual operating and capital budget process including coordination with UNC Healthcare Systems.
3. Manages and coordinates Decision Support System application. Manages the annual hospital license application, AHA Survey, and similar data requests. Manages the cost benchmarking process, including communication with hospital leaders.
4. In coordination with the CFO, maintains current financial contingency plan. Prepares monthly financial reports by service line and payor. Provides financial data for Strategic Planning initiatives including CON preparation, business planning, and other projects.
5. Serves as a liaison between Finance and clinical service line teams. Coordinates with other Finance leaders, the monthly review of the financial performance of the healthcare entities. Coordinates with other Finance leaders, financial analysis of proposed and ongoing federal and state healthcare policies.

Professional Experience Requirements:
● Six to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
● LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents and instructions. Ability to write financial reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with executive staff, department managers and accounting department staff. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as addition, subtraction, percentages, and division. Ability to work with complex formulas, statistical methods, and exponential relationships. Ability to structure mathematical formulas from spoken instructions. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables. Ability to work independent of supervision.
