JOB PURPOSE 

• The Sterile processing surgical technician provides sterilization and reprocessing of reusable medical instruments and supplies utilized by the Operation Room, and ancillary departments throughout the hospital as well as physicians’ offices within the community.

 KEY CUSTOMERS SERVED AND CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Patient and families are served in providing direct patient care services. Perform duties and conducts interpersonal relationships with co-workers, physicians and other departments in a manner designed to project a positive image of the department and hospital. 

JOB SPECIFICATIONS 

• EDUCATION 

o 1. High School graduate. 2. Graduate of approved operating room course for surgical technologist or previous experience working in Sterile Processing.

• EXPERIENCE 

o Previous experience required if not a Surgical Technologist. 

• LICENSURE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION 

o CPR Certification
