This position will provide high quality advanced life support including response and treatment utilizing standards and guidelines established within the paramedic scope of practice, assisting the Employee Health Services (EHS) Physicians, Advanced Practice Providers, and Nursing staff. The opportunity is located onsite at our pharmaceutical client partner location in Durham NC, and the hours are 2:30 pm to 11 pm Monday thru Friday. The ideal candidate should be competent responding to onsite emergencies. EMT or PHRN experience is appreciated. 

• Respond to all injuries or illness of employees in the workplace and provide evaluation and treatment of injured individuals as appropriate.
• Provide emergency care as allowed under written protocols and scope of practice, such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), oxygen, bandaging and splinting to patients.
• Phlebotomy and medication administration as needed.
• Document and record nature of injuries and treatment provided.
• Triage acute injury and illness according to protocols to the most appropriate level of care.
• Measuring and recording vital signs and other health metrics
• Documenting employee patient interactions in electronic medical record
• Assisting with exams, basic first aid, and preventative medical care
• Knowledgeable in use and routine maintenance of all equipment and supplies used.
• Lead other first responders during emergency or injury care.
• Support the company’s AED program and ensure compliance with company and local requirements for these devices.
• Assist with OSHA-regulated and company-designated quality examinations as determined by the medical oversight physician.
• Assisting with other employee health services duties and functions as determined by the medical oversight physician.

Oversees daily clinical, clerical & administrative Occupational Health Services (OHS) functions while ensuring institutional & departmental compliance with applicable professional, regulatory & governmental standards. Demonstrates clinical nursing expertise and professional competency through the planning, implementation and management of programs that support the health, safety and well-being of clients. Actively participates in the attainment of Organization's strategic plan, goals and objectives.

Responsibilities:
Oversees daily clinical, clerical & administrative Occupational Health Services (OHS) functions while ensuring institutional &
departmental compliance with applicable professional, regulatory & governmental standards.
Consistently and effectively coordinates the daily operations of occupational health programs & services - clinical, clerical and administrative functions - for area of responsibility/operating unit.
Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to foster the provision of effective health, safety and environmental services - anticipates changes and recommends and implements new policies and work improvement initiatives as indicated.
Demonstrates an ethical decision making framework in all activities. Through personal and professional relationships, promotes OHS mission and values and fosters community integration.
Ensures development and maintenance of confidential health records 100% of the time. Effectively coordinates provisions for employee compliance with regulatory requirements.

Demonstrates clinical nursing expertise and professional competency through the planning, implementation and management of programs that support the health, safety and well-being of clients.
Demonstrates expertise with provisions of the NC Workers' Compensation Act and serves as a case coordinator for all claims at operating unit.
Processes all client logs and associated documents in a timely and accurate manner and in accordance with insurance, legal and regulatory requirements.

Education Requirements:
● Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
● Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina.
Professional Experience Requirements:
● Three years of hands-on clinical nursing experience.
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
● Epidemiology/infection control, toxicology, industrial and environmental hygiene
