Summary:
This certified Athletic Trainer position, while employed by UNC Health Nash, supports the UNC Health Nash Sports Medicine Program, a collaboration which exists to serve the student athletes of Nash County Public Schools.
The athletic trainer has an atypical work schedule, as the position must be available on a scheduled basis for varsity and junior varsity athletic activities as coordinated by the Nash County Public Schools Athletic Director. The position requires that the applicant possesses the clinical evaluation and educational skills expected of an athletic trainer working in a physician extender role. The athletic trainer is responsible for the following functions regarding athletic injuries prevention, assessment, treatment, and reconditioning as set forth by the NATA Board of certification. The athletic trainer will demonstrate proper taping, strapping, bracing, and fitting of athletic equipment.
