Description
UNC Caldwell is looking for an Occupational/ Employee Health Nurse to join their team! We are looking for a licensed Registered Nurse with at least 3 years of hands-on experience in a clinical or hospital setting. We would also prefer a candidate that has prior experience in Employee Health. The hours for this role will be Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 4:30pm. There will be no weekends and no holidays worked for this role.

Summary:
Maintains an environment of safety for patients, self and others. Oversees daily clinical, clerical & administrative Occupational Health Services (OHS) functions while ensuring institutional & departmental compliance with applicable professional, regulatory & governmental standards. Demonstrates clinical nursing expertise and professional competency through the planning, implementation and management of programs that support the health, safety and well-being of clients. Actively participates in the attainment of Organization's strategic plan, goals and objectives.
Responsibilities:
Oversees daily clinical, clerical & administrative Occupational Health Services (OHS) functions while ensuring institutional &
departmental compliance with applicable professional, regulatory & governmental standards.
Consistently and effectively coordinates the daily operations of occupational health programs & services - clinical, clerical and administrative functions - for area of responsibility/operating unit.
Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to foster the provision of effective health, safety and environmental services - anticipates changes and recommends and implements new policies and work improvement initiatives as indicated.
Demonstrates an ethical decision making framework in all activities. Through personal and professional relationships, promotes OHS mission and values and fosters community integration.
Ensures development and maintenance of confidential health records 100% of the time. Effectively coordinates provisions for employee compliance with regulatory requirements.

Demonstrates expertise with provisions of the NC Workers' Compensation Act and serves as a case coordinator for all claims at operating unit.
Processes all client logs and associated documents in a timely and accurate manner and in accordance with insurance, legal and regulatory requirements.

Education Requirements:
● Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
● Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina.
Professional Experience Requirements:
● Three years of hands-on clinical nursing experience.
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
● Epidemiology/infection control, toxicology, industrial and environmental hygiene
