Job Summary

The Food Service Associate III is trained to work in a number of positions in the Dietary Department. This position may be scheduled in patient service areas, diet office/host/hostess, or retail/customer service areas.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Education

    High school diploma or GED required.

    Licensure/

    Certification

    None or required.

    Experience

    6+ months of food service or customer service experience preferred.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    · Must have basic knowledge of therapeutic diets.

    · Must have basic knowledge of food service and sanitary procedures.

    · Must be able to cope with a moderate degree of stress.

    · Is flexible in work assignments, including working in a variety of areas in one shift.

    · Ability to maintain effective working relationships and communication levels with co-workers, supervisors, administration, and general public. Demonstrates good customer service skills in all interactions.

    · Must be able to manage time.

    · Maintains a positive attitude.

    · Is able to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays.

    · Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.

    · Is able to meet the physical requirements of the job, which include working for several hours in a standing position, significant walking, and dealing with slippery floors, hot pans, liquids and foods.
