Summary:
UNC Health Care is recruiting for multiple Child Life Assistant PD positions to join our UNC Children’s Hospital team located on the beautiful campus of UNC Chapel Hill. We are seeking aspiring child life specialists to assist our team in implementing programs that support patient and family coping and adjustment to healthcare experiences. The ideal candidate has excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility, and initiative to see and address the ever-evolving needs of our patients and families.
This position offers variable hours, Sunday through Saturday between the hours of 7:00 am and 7:00 pm, including holiday options.

● Child life coursework in progress or completed (preferred).

● Related hospital and/or pediatric experience and/or training desired.
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
● Language skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-to-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
● Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
● Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
