The Temporary Registered Nurse position is a full-time temporary role serving in a clinical capacity and will be assigned to a unit based on clinical competence.
• This position pays a flat hourly rate without benefits or paid time off (PTO).
• Participants are limited to a 13-week contract with the possibility of renewal.
• This is a full-time position expected to work 36 or 40 hours a week depending on the assigned unit.
• The current rate for new and renewed contracts for program participants at this time is $60/hour
• The pay rate of contract renewals will be reviewed and set in alignment with the overall program.

The Temporary Registered Nurse preforms in a clinical capacity. Reporting and accountable to the Nurse Manager/Director, the temporary RN is responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities:
• Administers patient care under the direction of a physician. Identifies and pursues expected patient outcomes in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team.
• Organizes and prioritizes care according to patient/family needs. Consults with appropriate resources in a timely fashion regarding patients with complex care issues, unusual teaching needs and/or those at high risk for discharge planning.
• Collaborates with peers in a clinical operations environment, including fostering intra/interdepartmental communication.
• Synthesizes data from complex situations to determine priorities for care, including appropriate physical, psychosocial, education and safety needs. Assesses and anticipates discharge needs of individual patients and families.
• Develops clinical and operational excellence in self and in peers through education and training.
• Promotes a safe, clean and secure hospital environment for all, including the application of standard precautions and principles of infection control.

Required Qualifications:
• Must be licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina or one of compact states by the day of clinical care.
• Two (2) year of experience working in a registered nurse role in a relevant acute care hospital setting.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
