Job Summary
Responsible for implementing and supporting the Picture Archive Communication System for all Imaging departments. Serves as System Administrator to provide assistance in planning and implementing upgrades, installations, and migrations of hardware and software. Liaison to physicians, vendors, and end-users for education, problem solving, and all applications. Resolves system issues and has ongoing commitment for high quality. Responsible for assisting Imaging leadership by maintaining compliance with all regulatory agencies and governing bodies including but not limited to the NC Radiation Protection section, DHHS, ACR, DNV and CMS. Facilitates State registration of all new x-ray equipment and accurately updates documentation of equipment changes. Develops, implements, and updates safety policies and processes and coordinates education for team members. Assists and supports the Radiation Safety Officer and serves as a representative with quality initiatives and committees.
Responsibilities And Scope
· Works to implement, support, and maintain the Picture Archive Communication System for all imaging departments across the organization. Serves as a knowledgeable resource and liaison to physicians, vendors, and end-users in configuring applications, resolving system problems, and educating team members.
· Works in collaboration with Imaging leadership to insure the organization meets or exceeds all regulatory requirements and compliance standards. Serves as a knowledgeable resource for the guidelines and regulations of governing bodies such as the NC Radiation Protection section, DHHS, ACR, DNV, and CMS.
· Develops, implements and maintains all quality and safety initiatives of imaging services and is accountable to the on-going training of team members to the safety/quality policies and processes. Assists in the Accreditation processes for imaging areas.
· Oversees dosimetry badges/reports, lead apron inventory, radiation safety plans, equipment surveys and maintenance, repeat analysis reports and imaging protocols. Supports the RSO and Dosimetry tech roles. Serves as a representative at the Radiation Safety Committee.
· Serves as a knowledgeable representative at all imaging inspections and audits. Assists in facilitating any needed corrective actions of noted deficiencies and non-conformities.
Qualifications
Required
· Graduate of an Accredited program in Radiological Science
· Bachelor's degree.
· ARRT certification.
· Three years of experience in diagnostic imaging.
· Two years experience in radiology information systems and PACS required.
· Thorough knowledge of imaging principles and regulatory compliance.
Preferred
· Experience leading radiation safety programs
