Summary: The Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Specialist will contribute to the development and implementation of effective SEO strategies to enhance UNC Health’s website visibility on search engines, to increase organic traffic and to improve search rankings. This position is responsible for identifying gaps and strategic opportunities in UNC Health’s external web presence. The ideal candidate is analytical, creative and has a deep understanding of current SEO best practices.
Responsibilities:
1. Tracks — Analyzing and identifying gaps and opportunities in website content, optimizing pages for improved search results, building links and advising on content creation. Contributing to in-depth content strategy based on keyword and market research. Identifying and collaborating to address technical issues impacting SEO performance.
2. Leading Change — This person will have knowledge of industry best practices, a strong point of view on what works and what doesn’t, and the ability to execute an overarching strategy. Experience working with AI tools for production efficiency and SEO impact. Stay on top of search trends and algorithm updates that might impact site performance, including zero-click search.
3. Leading People — Educate colleagues and clients on SEO best practices, expectations and value of SEO efforts.
4. Results Driven — Work with cross-functional teams to promote impactful SEO content that increases organic reach. Responsible for SEO analytics, keyword research and competitor analysis, link building and performance tracking.

Education Requirements:
● Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, technology, business or related field.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
● None required.
Professional Experience Requirements:
● Requires five (5) years of experience with SEO, and quantitative and qualitative analysis activities
● Experience with analytics and SEO platforms (ideally experience with Adobe Customer Journey Analytics and Semrush)
● Experience working with content/experience management systems (Adobe Experience Manager a plus) and possessing strong knowledge of the intersection between SEO and personalization efforts.
