JOB SUMMARY
The Signage Specialist is responsible for overseeing all facets of signage across the organization. Signage plays an integral role in orchestrating and leading the delivery efforts for all UNC Health signage and wayfinding efforts. This individual is responsible for a range of project management duties including remodeling/renovation and new construction projects involving private contractors, design firms, signage vendors, and/or internal staff.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE
· Evaluates signage requests to provide optimal signage with consideration of placement, cost, necessity, and design. Ensure all signage requests meet local and national building codes, ADAAA requirements, diversity and language requirements for signage, and wayfinding.
· Validates all signage proposals and renderings for accuracy, ensuring conformance to organizational signage policies.
· Coordinates installation and removal of signage across all facilities.
· Leads the replacement or repair of existing signage to maintain facility standards.
· Develops strong working relationships with UNC Health Marketing to ensure compliant usage of the UNC Health logo and branding guidelines. Coordinate with Marketing on fundraising campaigns.
· Enforces signage standards throughout the UNC Health system for the benefit of patients, visitors, staff, and code compliance.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent working experience
· Five (5) years of experience in graphic design or signage in a healthcare, academic medical center, or campus work environment
· Valid driver’s license
Preferred
· Portfolio displaying prior completed signage projects
