Summary:

The Cancer Research Institutional Review Board (IRB) Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that the Cancer Research Department is fully compliant with all regulations related to research activities. 


Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Pardee Hospital Signatory Authority and the FDA to maintain compliance standards.
  • Lead the Pardee Hospital IRB Committee. This includes leading monthly meetings, collaborating with IRB Lead Physician, reviewing annual protocols, maintaining compliant records of meetings, and providing education for the Committee.
  • Process Central Institutional Review Board (CIRB) updates through the Pardee Hospital IRB within the time required and communicate updates to the Clinical Research Team.
  • Ensure that all investigative team members are current on required certifications and training.
  • Open and close protocols following CIRB regulations in collaboration with the Lead Investigator.
  • Manage Compassionate-Use Programs within the hospital or contracted entities.
  • Serve as a resource and liaison for physicians and staff regarding clinical trial requirements, protocol implementation, and research practice.
  • Prepare and maintain guidance documents including processes, policies and procedures as related to the IRB.

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications

    • Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina or a compact state.
    • Research certification (CCRP/CCRC) required after 3 years in position.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Five years of nursing experience, preferably oncology.
    • Experience in clinical research, preferably oncology focused.
