Summary:
The focus of the Oncology Pharmacist is to execute on-site order verification, preparation and distribution of infusion therapies for patients at the Pardee Cancer Center in an efficient and safe manner.

Responsibilities:

• Provides order verification of medication orders entered into the EPIC Beacon module for the patients of Pardee Cancer Center. For any orders requiring clarification, the Pharmacist will collaborate with providers/physicians to obtain clarification or new orders. This position will maintain a thorough understanding of the operational function of therapy plans in EPIC.
• Collaborates with clinic infusion nurses to maintain patient throughput at the clinic and assists with drug administration and access questions.
• Verifies the accuracy of infusion products and automated dispensing refill batches prepared by the pharmacy technician staff. Provides daily supervision of the pharmacy technician staff.
• Responsible for promoting and meeting medication management goals set forth by the Department of Pharmacy Services and Cancer Center Pharmacy Leadership. Maintains a current working knowledge of the USP 797 Sterile Compounding and USP 800 Hazardous Drug Handling guidelines in order to ensure continual compliance.

Other information:

Required
• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy.
• Licensed as a Pharmacist in the state of North Carolina
Preferred
• Experience as a Pharmacist in a hospital setting
