Description

Provides routine direct and indirect patient care in a skilled nursing facility setting. All work performed is under the direct supervision of a registered nurse or physician.

 

Our nursing center is broken down into our skilled unit (short term) which consist of mostly patients that can communicate and needs limited care. This is a fast paced unit that would require someone who is a quick learner, someone who is good at paying attention to detail, as there will be many discharges and admissions of patients. A candidate desirable for this unit would need to be friendly and works well in a team, likes to work in a fast paced environment and is quick on their feet.

   

For our long term care unit, which consist of patients that require almost total care and sometimes need assistance with daily living activities. Our patients may require using lifts and E-Z stands machines, so being able to meet the physical requirements of this job is key. A candidate desirable for this unit would be someone enjoying having a repetitive schedule and forming relationships with our patients and their family members, have good communication skills and works well in a team.

 

121 Bed Unit

10:1 Ratio

 

General skills needed for either unit would be:

 

 

  • Good personality
  • In good shape physically for heavy lifting, turning, good body mechanics
  • Good communication skills
  • Consistency
  • Good record-keeping skills
  • Understanding of common disorders and knowing medical terminology
  • Reliable
  • Good Integrity
  • Knowledge of computers  

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED. 
  • Previous Nursing Assistant experience in clinical specialty desired.
  • Completion of an accredited Nursing Assistant Training program and listing with the Nurse Aide Registry with the Department of Facility Services.
