Description

The Medical Assistant I Certified provides routine clinical and administrative support to providers and other health care team members in an outpatient clinic setting. The Medical Assistant I Certified works under the clinical supervision of the provider for patient care activities, and under the general direction of the designated manager/supervisor for non-clinical responsibilities.


Job Duties at our clinic include:

  • rooming patients; 
  • obtaining vital signs, current medications and allergies, health history, family history, and social history;  
  • ensuring all overdue Health Maintenance items are addressed at time of visit;  
  • communicating messages between patients and providers regarding patient advise, patient lab results, patient medications, etc.;  
  • cleaning and stocking of exam rooms and equipment;  
  • administering Vaccine/Medication for patients of all age groups.  

About our clinic:

  • We are a large Family Medicine practice with 12 providers and around 15 clinical staff. We offer lab, x-ray, bone density, and dietitian services on site. 
  • Our clinic is an easy commute located right off of 70 Highway, Garner NC. 
  • Clinic days/hours are Monday-Friday, 7:00 am-4:30 pm, although clinical hours vary depending on physician.  Rotating Urgent Care only on Saturdays, hours are from 8:30 am-12:00 pm.
  • Typical work schedules are: 7:15 am-4:45 pm, 4 days a week or 7:30 am-5:00 pm, 4 days a week.  8:00 am-12:00 pm one day a week with afternoon hours off.  

Our ideal Certified Medical Assistant candidate has experience in family practice and EPIC EHR.  Ability to multitask is an absolute must as we are an extremely busy 12 provider practice.  Team player and can-do attitude is also a must to succeed in role. 


Qualifications

Requires high school diploma or equivalent.

Completion of a Medical Assisting program accredited by either the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accreditation Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) is strongly preferred but not required.

Prior medical assistant or medical assistant externship experience preferred.

Requires Medical Assistant certification by either the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Medical Technologists (AMT), National Healthcareer Association (CCMA) or National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA).

Prefer candidates with current Basic Life Support Certification from American Heart Association at the time of hire. If selected candidate does not possess BLS, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
