The Evening Shift Coordinator is responsible for the procurement of blood specimens using a variety of techniques such as capillary puncture and venous collections; assisting in troubleshooting and problem resolution; coordinating phlebotomy services for early morning rotations and serves as on site senior leadership point of contact during off shift hours when a supervisor is not present.
This position is also responsible for instructing students, new employees and other health care providers in phlebotomy procedures and theory. In addition, they will assist with departmental continuing education programs, competency assessment and procedure writing/review.
Their primary focus will be coordination of service and monitoring workflow on shifts where supervisors aren’t present. They will assist the Medical Laboratory Supervisor I with real time schedule and assignment adjustments in order to maintain service expectations.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Phlebotomy Licensure. At least three years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Phlebotomy experience required.
