Job Description


Position: Ultrasound Technologist

Location: Lillington, NC

Full-Time experienced sonographer for Rex NC Heart & Vascular (Lillington Office)

  • Current echo registry required
  • Vascular experience a must; registry preferred (vascular registry will be  required within 18 months of hire).
  • Maintains an environment of safety for patients, self and others.
  • Coordinates work schedule with scheduling desk to assure workload coverage.
  • Assists with the daily operations of ultrasound lab.
  • Oversees accuracy of daily log and billing procedures.
  • Performs all ultrasound studies.
  • Prepares technical comments/worksheet at the conclusion of each study which includes all calculations and measurements needed for the patient assessment.
  • Maintains all equipment associated with ultrasound imaging; institutes trouble shooting measures, recognizes equipment malfunctions, and communicates with service engineers.
  • Maintains department ledgers and files associated with patient charges and department revenue.
  • Responsible for maintenance of ICAVL or ICACL accreditation 

    and ensuring operational compliance of guidelines and protocols.


Two years previous related experience and/or training in allied health desired.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred. Preferably a graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or Cardiovascular Technology Program that is accredited by CAAHEP.

Department specific certification must be received within 2 years of hire date: RVT--Vascular or RDCS-echo *Must Have- Active certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in specialty(ies) as appropriate or registered by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) in specialty as appropriate within two years of hire date. 


This position is employed by NC Health (Rex Healthcare, Inc., d/b/a NC Health), a private, fully-owned subsidiary of UNC Heath Care System. This is not a State employed position.
