The Clinical Pastoral Education Specialist provides the education to the interns enrolled in the Clinical Pastoral Education Program at the WakeBrook Campus. The position requires direct supervision of the students who provide pastoral care to the patients and staff of WakeBrook. There cannot be a training program without a certified clinical pastoral educator. The Clinical Pastoral Educator is not only an educator, but provides direct patient care through leading spirituality groups on the various psych units and providing spiritual care to in-patients and out-patients. The chaplain leads the institution in rituals such as memorial services, grief support, Blessing of the Hands, and other spiritual duties and rituals as assigned. This is a vital position for continued spiritual support of patients. This position enables students to provide a tremendous amount of spiritual care on the WakeBrook Campus.
QualificationsMaster's degree in Divinity (M.Div.) or equivalent degree from an accredited seminary or university. Graduation from accredited college and seminary with nine (9) units of ACPE CPE faith group endorsement. Certified as an Associate Supervisor by the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE) or National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC). Prior pastoral experience in hospital setting and/or congregation.
