Job Description


This position is responsible for the overall management of the Occupational Health Service Clinics.   This includes ensuring that appropriate care and services are available to employee and volunteers at UNC Hospitals,  ensuring adequate and appropriate staff on each shift,  assistance with annual performance reviews of staff, participation in quality improvement initiatives to address identified employee safety or quality of care issues, providing and facilitating an environment conducive to staff continuing education needs, on-going clinic -based educational needs and orientation of staff members.

In addition, responsibilities include:
 -Assisting with pre-employment medical clearance of new employees, resident physicians and volunteers
- Performing screenings, including assisting with fit for duty
 -Assessing employees, who have work-related injuries and conditions, including needle sticks   and blood exposures
-Helping to coordinate the annual flu campaign
-Assisting with COVID activities, such as screening employees and contact tracing
-Educating employees, resident physicians, volunteers and managers on workplace safety
-Participating in various OHS health prevention and safety initiatives as well as committees
Must have excellent documentation and communication skills as well as the ability to multitask.  Prior occupational health or employee health experience a plus, but not required.





Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from a state-accredited school of professional nursing. Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina. Eighteen (18) months of professional nursing experience in a tertiary care setting to include didactic and clinical experience in the area of assignment.
