RN needed for Bone Marrow Transplant Unit/BMTU

 

Hours: 36 hours a week, Day/Night rotation with weekend rotation. Position is eligible for comprehensive benefits including PTO accruals up to 230 hours/year.

 

The 24 bed BMTU cares for adult patients undergoing transplant for hematologic cancers, solid tumors, metabolic diseases and blood disorders.

 

With the support of the entire Bone Marrow Transplant team, nurses provide exceptional care to our patients while applying critical thinking skills. Prior oncology or chemotherapy experience is preferred but not mandatory.  We will provide you with the chemotherapy knowledge as well as disease specific training to provide quality nursing care to this patient population. Our 6 to 8 week orientation program is tailored to your existing skills and experience, with supplemental and specialty courses designed to expand your knowledge. It is a comprehensive stimulating education that, like our care, is second to none.

 

Provides competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards. Reporting and accountable to the Nurse Manager/Director, the Clinical Nurse is responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting.


Qualifications

Requires graduation from a state-accredited school of professional nursing and at least one (1) year of nursing experience. Must be licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the State of North Carolina by the NC Board of Nursing. Current certification in Healthcare Provider BLS/ CPR required.


Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, preferred. If hired after January 6, 2014, must be enrolled in an accredited program within four years of employment, and obtain a Baccalaureate degree with a major in Nursing or a Master’s degree with a major in Nursing within seven years of employment date.
