Sterile Processing Educator needed for Surgical Support Services Central Processing Department
Coordinates orientation, staff development and continuing education for Central Processing Department.
Assists staff in design and implementation of CPD performance improvement projects.
Provides education to staff on regulatory standards and compliance, current sterile processing practice issues, and safety standards.
Maintains and updates all orientation manuals and skills checklists.
Contributes to sterile processing policy development.
Creates individualized training plan for all new employees. Conducts weekly assessments of new employees and adjusts orientation training schedule as needed.
Assesses competency of preceptors to ensure they have the knowledge and skill to assist with orientation of new employees.
Coordinates in-service schedule for new instruments, continuing education, etc.
This is a 40 hour a week position with day shifts (7am-4:30pm). This position qualifies for a generous benefit package including PTO accrual based upon the number of hours hired to work. Must be able to complete a week long required hospital orientation (Monday through Friday, 7:30am-5:00pm)
Associate’s degree required. Three (3) years of CPD experience including at least one year in a senior role serving as a preceptor.
Sterile Processing Certification required.
