The Pediatric Pharmacy at UNC Hospitals has a mission to provide quality, patient-centered care, in collaboration with other healthcare professionals, for all pediatric patients within the Children’s Hospital by practicing evidenced-based medicine, optimizing medication use and distribution while ensuring medication safety. Pediatric Pharmacy Specialty Services are currently offered to the inpatient population of the Children’s Hospital, Pulmonary/Cystic Fibrosis Clinic and the Pediatric Oncology Clinic of the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center. The focus of this Clinical Pharmacist position will be to maintain comprehensive pharmaceutical care and disease management for inpatient pediatrics.
This position will join the Pediatric Pharmacy and have responsibility for medication distribution, order verification and clinical functions (PK dosing, Clinical Consults, and Code Coverage) for the Children's Hospital. It is a centralized position stationed within the Pediatric Pharmacy and will include some oversight of the technical team members. In addition it will also float between areas of coverage including Hematology/Oncology, Bone Marrow Transplant, Intensive Care (Neonatal and Pediatrics), Pulmonary/Cystic Fibrosis, Endocrine, Cardiology and general Pediatric patients. When covering these clinical areas, added responsibilities will include participation in daily rounds. Coverage for the Pediatric Infusion Pharmacy located at the Children’s Raleigh Specialty Clinic will also be required. Residency training and/or experience in Pediatrics is preferred.
Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy.
Eligible for licensure as a Registered Pharmacist in NC. Licensure from NC Board of Pharmacy required within 6 months of orientation date or sooner if required for operations.
