RN needed for Psychotic Disorders Unit
The Psychotic Disorders Unit located on 3 Neuroscience is a 18-bed unit designated for the diagnosis and treatment of psychotic disorders. Nursing is a vital part of an interdisciplinary treatment team which completes assessments, targeted treatments and medication management within a mental health recovery model. Additionally, nursing care includes assessment and monitoring patients for emotional support during stressful events. Nursing provides groups and patient / family education.
This is a 36 hours per week, 12-hour rotating day/night shift schedule with weekend rotations.
Requires graduation from a state-accredited school of professional nursing and one (1) year of nursing experience. Must be licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina and hold a current certification as a Healthcare Provider or BLS Provider for Basic Life Support (BLS).
If hired after January 6, 2014, must be enrolled in an accredited program within four years of employment, and obtain a Bachelor's degree with a major in Nursing or a Master's degree with a major in Nursing within seven years of employment date.
