UNC Hospitals Department of Audiology is seeking a highly motivated and experienced pediatric audiologist to serve as Audiology Supervisor over UNC Hospitals’ Pediatric Services. The ideal candidate will have advanced clinical experience with children from infancy through adolescence. This position is responsible for day to day operations of clinic sites; scheduling and professional development of clinical staff; supervision of students, externs, new hires; triaging of pediatric referrals; collaboration with multidisciplinary teams for care of patients with complex medical needs; assisting Manager with budget projection and monitoring; program development and improvement. In addition to supervisory responsibilities, the position will have approximately 50% patient care/clinical duties. This individual will provide operational and supervisory support to the department of Audiology in order to deliver high quality, safe, and efficient patient care for UNC Health Care. Audiology provides a wide range of services in the inpatient and outpatient settings in multiple clinic sites across the triangle area.
UNC Hospitals Pediatric Audiology provides diagnostic, electrophysiology and hearing aid services for thousands of children across the state of NC. We work closely and collaborate often with UNC’s Department of Otolaryngology and the Children’s Cochlear Implant Center, both very active programs in a major academic medical center. The ability to perform electrophysiological and behavioral evaluations, perform hearing aid evaluations and manage all current hearing aid technology, selection and fitting using best practices, and participate in clinical research independently are required for the appropriate candidate.
Candidate should have doctoral degree in Audiology (Au.D.) and at least five years of clinical experience. The ideal candidate will have experience working in an academic medical center in collaboration with otolaryngologists and related professionals. Management or supervisory experience preferred. Requires current NC Audiology license or eligibility for license issued by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists.
Doctorate degree in Audiology. Five (5) years of clinical experience. Licensed as an Audiologist by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists.
