RN needed for Orthopedic/Trauma Acute Care Unit (5 BEDTOWER).
5 Bedtower is a 28-bed Trauma and Orthopedic Unit. We excel at putting broken bodies back together again and making them work like new. It is a unit where inter-professional collaboration is totally tangible as we work to deliver highly specialized, cutting-edge care to our patients. This unit was the first acute care unit in North Carolina to receive the Beacon Award for Excellence designated by the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN). The AACN created the Beacon designation to recognize individual units that have set a path to excellence in an effort to highlight critical care units that distinguish themselves in every facet of patient care. Recipients of a Beacon designation demonstrate excellence in sustained unit performance and patient outcomes.
This position is for 36 hours/week rotating days, nights and weekends (7am-7:30pm and 7pm-7:30am) with self-scheduling to meet the needs of the staff and unit. This position qualifies for an extensive State benefit package including PTO hours accrued based on the number of hours hired to work.
Graduation from a state-accredited school of professional nursing. One (1) year of nursing (RN) experience. If hired after January 6, 2014, without a BSN or MSN, must be enrolled in an accredited program within four years of employment, and obtain a Bachelor's degree with a major in Nursing or a Master's degree with a major in Nursing within seven years of employment date.
Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
