Job Description

Description

RN needed for Orthopedic/Trauma Acute Care Unit (5 BEDTOWER).

5 Bedtower is a 28-bed Trauma and Orthopedic Unit. We excel at putting broken bodies back together again and making them work like new. It is a unit where inter-professional collaboration is totally tangible as we work to deliver highly specialized, cutting-edge care to our patients. It is an incredibly exciting place to work and to grow; full of challenges as well as the opportunity to work with the best and the brightest. Our unit is an integral component of a leading trauma program.

As an inter-professional patient care team, our physicians are true partners in nursing practice. Physical therapists, social workers, nutritionists, and a myriad of other specialties are also integral members of our team. Together, we create a synergy that is palpable and powerful. This is an environment where learning can flourish and your competence and confidence as a nurse will soar to new heights. We strive for excellence in all things - our patients deserve it and our team expects it!

This unit was the first acute care unit in North Carolina to receive the Beacon Award for Excellence designated by the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN).  The AACN created the Beacon designation to recognize individual units that have set a path to excellence in an effort to highlight critical care units that distinguish themselves in every facet of patient care.  Recipients of a Beacon designation demonstrate excellence in sustained unit performance and patient outcomes.

This position is for 36 hours/week rotating days, nights and weekends (7am-7:30pm and 7pm-7:30am) with self-scheduling to meet the needs of the staff and unit. This position qualifies for an extensive State benefit package including PTO hours accrued based on the number of hours hired to work.
