3 West is a 31 bed, general medicine unit. We care for a variety of medical patients with diagnoses that include COPD, diabetes, pneumonia, renal failure, behavioral health, as well as many others. We have a strong team that takes pride in providing the best of care that UNC REX can offer. Several of our bedside staff are masters prepared and 30% are Med/Surg certified nurses. We offer online self-scheduling, exceptional night and weekend shift differentials, and co-worker input on holiday rotations. We support education and work hard to be flexible with scheduling shifts for those co-workers in school.
3 West values our new co-workers and takes pride in assuring their success and growth. We have several trained preceptors who enjoy guiding new co-workers through the learning process, helping identify progress goals as well as adapting orientation to fit the experience and needs of their trainee.
Graduation from a state-accredited school of professional nursing. One (1) year of nursing experience. If hired after January 6, 2014, must be enrolled in an accredited program within four years of employment, and obtain a Bachelor's degree with a major in Nursing or a Master's degree with a major in Nursing within seven years of employment date.
Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina. Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
