Job Description


Medical Technologist I, Molecular Microbiology
M-F 3:00pm-11:30pm
, Rotating Weekends and Holidays

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Conducts molecular testing for SARS-CoV-2
• Performs infectious disease PCR and Viral Load testing
• Performs respiratory pathogen panels
• Performs GI pathogen panels
• Performs 16S and fungal sequencing
• Ensures the laboratory areas and reagents are contamination-free.
• Performs additional duties as required such as quality control, equipment maintenance, disposal of hazardous waste and maintenance of frozen specimen collection.

Experience with the following testing platforms is a plus:
• Abbott m2000
• ABI 7500
• Biomerieux Easy Mag/EMag
• Biofire
• Qiagility
• Roche Magna Pure
• Roche Cobas
• Hologic Panther


Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Scientist, Biological Science or Chemical Science.


If a Bachelor's degree: No prior experience is required.


If a Bachelor's degree in biological or chemical science: Medical Laboratory Scientist ASCP level BOC required.
