Job Description


This is a 36 hour a week position, rotating days, nights and weekends, with flexible self scheduling. 06:45am - 7:15pm; 06:45pm -7:15am.  This position is eligible for state benefits.

Registered Nurse needed for the Cardiothoracic Stepdown Unit (CTSU), a 13 bed intermediate critical care unit.
Nurses in the CTSU have an opportunity to care for patients who have undergone:
· major cardiac, thoracic, or vascular surgery
· heart/lung transplantation or mechanical device implantation
· procedures requiring postoperative telemetry and/or respiratory monitoring.
Registered Nurses gain valuable experience managing patients with ventricular assist devices and intrapleural drains. They interpret cardiac rhythms and monitor cardiac infusions.
The CTSU offers a chance for active involvement and professional growth. In this dynamic clinical unit, inter-professional collaboration and teamwork foster an environment conducive to learning. Unit objectives are to create a positive, healing, environment for our patients by providing the very highest level of quality & service in a cost effective manner. We are recruiting for a detail-oriented RN with a proactive work ethic and strong, effective, communication skills.



Graduation from a state-accredited school of professional nursing. One (1) year of nursing experience. If hired after January 6, 2014, must be enrolled in an accredited program within four years of employment, and obtain a Bachelor's degree with a major in Nursing or a Master's degree with a major in Nursing within seven years of employment date.


Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina. Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
